Once in awhile, one of my peers goes to a restaurant that specializes in Wonton soup etc., and today she was doing a "run". So I ordered my usual, no noodles, just veg and chicken (no wontons either). It finally showed up and I eagerly dished out half an order as I knew a full order was too much. Then I sat down to munch and all I can say is “yuck”! It was so salty, I could hardly stomach it and this was something I used to find very tasteful. In fact, another peer who sits close by was also eating soup and I asked him if he found it salty and he said “no, it’s pretty good”. Now I know he also eats fairly healthy, maybe not “clean” but healthy. I on the other had have been eating as clean as possible with also means I’ve been watching my sodium intake as well.
So I’m thinking eating clean is paying off as my taste buds are changing and things that are not really healthy for me (like this soup because of the sodium), I seem to not be able to tolerate as well.
I think this is a good thing.
AND I’m noticing the last week my weight is starting to slowly creep down. I don’t celebrate any pound loss until I’ve been at the same scale weight for more than 3 days in a row… I think the workouts are starting to work! Yahoo!!

I impressed about noticing the salt. I too eat way too much salt and my goal for right now is to leave the salt shaker in the cupboard.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to HYC, I'm new here too.
Awesome job - reducing salt is one of the most challenging things for us to do (behind sugar, that is), and yet it is one of the best things for us. Who decided to put all that salt in there, anyway?!?!?
ReplyDeleteHi there, welcome to HYC.
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome when you realise your taste buds and desires are starting to support not test your good intentions. I'm very impressed at noticing the saltiness so much though, I have to admit it's something I hadn't even thought about until I read it in another blog this week.
Just found your blog through HYC. Looks like you are already well on your way to meeting your goals! That's great. :)
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog! Sounds like you are doing well! Salt is almost as challenging as sugar! You did great! Keep up the good work!
