Hot, HOT... YOGA

I’m finally going to do it…. I found a yoga studio close to my home that practices HOT Yoga. Never heard of it before today and I learned about it from a co-worker who has attended a couple of classes. She sent me to their website and I learned a little about it and made a decision to give it a try.

Here is a little spiel from their website:

Proper weight, muscle tone, vibrant good health, and a sense of well-being will automatically follow.

It kind of fits in there with the book I am reading (I believe in synchronicities J) as the 7 Day Total Cleanse requires that you do some Yoga Poses during the day and since I have NO idea really how to do them, attending one or two of these classes before I start that cleanse, should help me out quite a bit. Since this yoga practice is done in 105 F temperature, I know I will struggle a bit with the heat but if it will help me with my hip pain, then I’m all for it.

I know for a fact that there is NO WAY I will be able to do all 26 poses and those that I can attempt will not be a full version but I have to start somewhere – right?  It is 90 minutes long and the co-worker here that has tried it say’s you are absolutely done afterwards. I thought going to the 4:00 session tomorrow afternoon would be a really good way to start 2010.

I’ll let you know how I feel on Saturday.

  1. That Hot Yoga is the rage around here, There are tons of studios that have it now. It might be something I try in 2010. Let us know how you like it.

  5. I hate hot yoga. I hope it's better for you than it was for me. I went twice, 90-minute sessions. The second time I seriously thought I was going to die. I wanted to die or get out of there (they block the door so people couldn't leave).

    Anyway, it's very popular and the place here is always packed. I don't understand why though, it's a killer. :)
