Day 4 which really is 7 & Perfect 10

Thursday:

  • 35 minutes of Treadmill
  • Calories around 1550
  • Alcohol free

I had another good day yesterday. My dinner was a bit heavier in calories that I normally would have because I wanted a grilled cheese sandwich with a pickle and gosh darn it – I had one. Unfortunately though I ate it with white bread because someone got rid of my WW. Must have been past its prime anyway. Normally I stay away from white but once in a while won’t hurt me.  Basically my dinner was a third of my day’s calories. Then after dinner I found myself wanting to munch on something. I still have the Christmas crap snacks on my table, you know, the nuts and some mints and there is a bag of open ripple chips on Ron’s side table, and a half eaten bag of taco’s sitting on the counter. Why I leave these things within my site, I have no idea… maybe to torture challenge myself?? But I did not succumb and drank a large glass of water, read some blogs and had a bath.  There took care of it. I was a bit worried about last night before I even got home because it was the first night home in what seems like forever and if I get bored, that’s when the munchies demon comes a knockin….  But I think I handled it quite well thank you very much!

So for my Perfect 10 Update:

Log my Food
I logged all my foods in FitDay since January 1st. Other than my Saturday free day, my calories were well in line with my goals.
Lose 10 lbs
As of this morning, I am down 1.4 lbs. J I do believe this should be 1 lb more due to something I’m not going to give too much information on but I am happy with 1.4
Exercise min 5x week
I aced this.  01-07 I got in 270 minutes of Yoga, and 210 minutes of Cardio. I worked out every day except Sunday because I was too pooped to pop.
Schedule 1 (ONE) Cheat day
Yup, had that on the second day of the challenge – pitiful isn’t it. But I was exceptionally good all week and I had some challenging situations that I overcame. I am happy with that.
Complete 1 "Modified" 7-day Total Cleanse
I am trying to figure out when is going to be the best time for this. But I have 60 more days to give it a go. I need to take some days off work to really do the entire cleanse right and due to my work load right now, I’m just not sure when this is going to happen.

And as part of the challenge I have to tell you one thing you don’t know about me.
When I was young I took piano lessons. I was actually getting pretty good at it.  Both my parents played and my Dad was often in a band. I loved to listen to him play. When I was around 9 or 10, I quit because I really hated my piano teacher, she was mean old biddy.  I never really told my dad the real reason behind it until I was an adult and he said I should have said something as he would have found me someone else. So when my parents passed, I got their piano but it sat in my basement for quite a few years and is very out of tune. I’ve had it tuned up but it was once in a basement flood in their home, and really has never sounded the same since. So about 8 years ago, I started to take piano lessons again but again, didn’t get too far because that was just before my Ex and I split up, we sold the acreage and I moved to where I am now. I can still read music, love to listen to it all the time and I would love to get playing again. But I want to purchase an electronic piano with headphones so that I can practice to my hearts delight and take out the headphones when I get good enough for others to hear it J

I hope all of you have a fantastic day and those of you in the Perfect 10 Challenge, I look forward to reading your update.

p.s., I’m going to HOT Yoga this afternoon and I’m excited about it !!!
Erin, you MUST use a towel on the yoga mat or you slip off of it. In fact, it is very difficult to get into some of the positions and hold it because your skin is so slick. It’s kind of funny actually.

  1. Woo hoo for the weight loss. I call my "cheat" day a R&R day - rest and relax. I still log my food too but I allow myself to make DIFFERENT choices than I do other days of the week.

  2. Great progress Sandra! And I am impressed with you even HAVING open bags of chips and tacos in the house, let alone resisting them. Once I start, there's no leaving anything for later.

And ooooh, playing the piano, I'm so glad you're pursuing that again. I have total respect for anybody able to play.

  4. Woohoo for a great week! You make HOT yoga sound like sleeping on satin sheets. . .slip sliding away! LOL

I started taking piano lessons when I was 40 something and quit when we moved and then because I didn't like my teacher. . . I think you should go for it!

(And thank you, thank you, for your sweet support and comments on my blog).

    Here's to another great week!

  5. I think you are doing great. I don't think I would be as strong with the open chips in front of me... Congrats on the weight loss - good way to start the year!

  6. Great job on the loss and the goals! You should really look into getting an electric piano with weighted keys. I bet you would pick it back up in no time.

  7. What a great starting week to the challenge Sandra! The 'too pooped to pop' made me laugh - I use that phrase too!

Stay with it. Sounds like you should come around on the piano/keyboard again. It is time.

    Cheers!
