My favorite lady Kat has honored me with a new blog reward – The Happy 101.
Kat and I are developing a good friendship here in Blogland, DailyMile as well as Facebook (although I’m not very active in FB). We have a lot of things in common and have the same outlook on life. I love her blog title – Fit Mind Body & Spirit – this is all what I strive towards as well.
Here are the instructions:
- Copy the image and display on your blog.
- List 10 things that make you happy
- Try to do at least one of them today
- Pass on the award to 10 bloggers who brighten your day.
And the 10 things that make me happy (in no particular order):
1. My grandson. I absolutely love that little guy. Since I was a very young Mom (and single), I spent way too much time worrying about money, food, & our well being to really stop and watch my children learn and grow. With my Grandson, I got to see life through a different set of eyes. It’s pretty amazing.
2. Camping, fishing, gardening, anything in the outdoors. Even if it is just sitting on the deck reading a good book.
3. Ron – even though we have our challenges as any relationship does, we get along great and do have a lot of fun together.
4. Hanging with friends and family. As long as all I’m doing is hanging and not doing all the hostessing.
5. Travelling and seeing new countries. I NEVER travelled as a child –my Mom did not like planes but over the years I’ve managed to see and visit a few places. I love sitting in the sun, I call myself the sun bunny even though I know it is for my skin.
6. Books – I love reading all kinds of books. Doesn’t matter what type. I have a wide variety of them in my book case. It starts with authors like Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, to Christine Feehan…
7. My children when they are being successful. If they are struggling (like they are right now), I’m not so happy….
8. My job – I’ve worked here for 22 years and love it. I started at the bottom of the ladder and have made it up quite high. Since I am in Information Technology, I have the opportunity to learn something all the time. I basically can do pretty much what I want to here (I have enough seniority) so I get to do the fun stuff. Mind you, not all days are fun (like this morning when my network crashed).
9. Riding horses – I love it, it makes me happy but I can’t do it right now because of my hip. There is no way I could sit in a saddle and if I managed to do it, I would never get out again… OK, that’s not so happy but I love horses. Actually I think I love all animals – especially my dog and my cat.
10. Exercising actually makes me happy and my newest one with Hot Yoga is great!
And the 10 lovelies I want to pass this on to (some of you may have already gotten this award but as the theme goes – you brighten my day too).

Thanks again Kat!

Thank you Sandra, right back at you...
ReplyDeleteI got it from hanli and posted my 10 things today.
I ought to pass it on huh?
I will.
I know what you mean about kids...you are happy when they are happy.
Thank you for the mention. That is so very kind of you. Hmmm, ten things, huh? I so hear you on the kids. I was young and single with my daughter. What I would give to be able to just have a redo on a bit of that. She and her husband say no kids, so I won't get the grandkid option, but we'll see.
ReplyDeleteAgain, thanks for the award.
Have a wonderful day!
thanks for the award Sandra - I found your list interesting. With regards to your field, I think I have said this to you before, but you are really an exception, especially to have 20+ years experience. There aren't a whole lot of ladies who have done that in the IT field. The company I work for is heavy into IT and we only have a small smattering of ladies in our IT groups. Grats to you!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra :-) Nice Blog! Looks like you are doing good on your perfect 10 challenge too. Thanks for visiting my blog. We're almost to update time again! Have a super great Thursday!!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra!!! Thank you sooooo much for this award!!! I'm honored to be in such great company!!!
ReplyDeleteI bet that hot yoga will help with your hips and you'll be back in the saddle again soon! Thanks for thinking of me.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the award!!
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone for your comments.
ReplyDeleteBe Happy! (got that song in my head now) :)
WooHOO! I LOVE awards! ;) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'll post my loves over the weekend since tomorrow is the big 10 update!
Greetings to one and all: In that most precious name. That name which is above every name, the name: "Jesus"
ReplyDeleteThere's tremendous power in that name. I'd suppose we'll never fully realize all that can truly be accomplished, by us simply calling out that name in true faith.
There's an old, old, gospel song that goes like this: Faith in the Father, faith in the Son, faith in the Holy Spirit, great victories are won. Demons will tremble and sinners will awake, faith in Jehovah will anything shake.
For you who have never come into this realization, if you're reading this, just give him a welcome into your heart and life. You will both feel and see an awesome difference. You will have also purchased the ticket to heaven (by accepting, therefore making him welcome to come into your life. You will also sup from His cup that contains living water. (As did the woman at the well of Bethesda.) John 4:10
(I have had three Christian oriented adventure stories published so far, and am now working on my fourth book. All three Can be found, at the best prices, by going to Google.Com and inserting my name: William
Dunigan) Thank you.
http://Off to visit the prophet Elijah
I loved reading your list. One of my "carrots" for losing weight is to be able to ride a horse again. Hopefully sometime soon. Thank you for sending the award back to me...:-) xoxo
