Welcome to 2010 & My Perfect 10 Goals

Happy New Year Everyone! I wish you all a very successful year. My wish is that everything you desire shows up in your life and that you lack nothing. Reach for the Stars!

Again, Steve over at LogMyLoss has graciously opened up a new challenge - the Perfect 10 for 2010.

I found the HOT 100 a very good thing for me. Even though I did not completely meet all the goals I set for my HOT 100, it taught me how to be more accountable to myself and publicly owning up. Let's face it, I'm only cheating myself if I'm not honest to myself about my choices. I also loved the support and friendship I got from being a part of the “HOTTIES”. Loved it, and going to love this new one.

I’ve set the following goals for January 1st to March 12th and listed are my reason for them:
Log my Food: This one is important for me to keep myself in line. I’m not stating my calorie limit as it is going to change daily based on what my nutritionist states (1300 – 1800 depending on the day). But I need to log absolutely everything, including all empty calories (alcohol, pop), and any cheat foods (chips, popcorn, etc.). I will be logging it in Fitday on a daily basis and those days I’m away from my PC, I will log it in my journal.
Lose 10 Lbs:  One lb a week seems to be all I can do right now. I was hoping for 2lbs but I really need to establish some habits first, and really get everything under control before I can move up in the amount each week. It took me a whole year to lose 10lbs in 2009 so if I can do 10 lbs in 10 weeks, I’ll be ecstatic.
Exercise min 5x week: I am going to be doing the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred 3 x a week. I have a partner (Kat) and we are going to do level two together (well online anyway) and get this done. Kat made it through 30 days straight at level 1 and I really commend her for doing it 30 days in a row. I want to do as much cardio as I can as well so I will only be doing it 3 days a week, the doing an additional 2-3 days of C25K or similar type of cardio. I’ve got to be smoking hot by July!!!
Schedule 1 (ONE) Cheat day:  This is important to me. I must stop drinking beer, eating chips, bingeing on crap. Years ago when I did the Body For Life, I managed quite well with one cheat day a week and lost 50lbs. I think knowing that I can have what I want just one day a week will help me manage my other 6 days easier. I am hoping eventually that one cheat day will become one cheat meal only. It is a goal I really need to work on.
Complete ONE “Modified” 7-day Total Cleanse:  I picked up a book over the holidays that just seems to be there at the right time and just for me. J It incorporates a Juice Fast alongside daily Yoga practices. I would like to complete one, fully honest, no cheating, 7 day cleanse for body and mind. I need to modify it as I could not fully practice everything it states at the time it lists as I work full time and the schedule does not meet mine. I could/would follow what I can and when but not exactly – so I’m calling it a “Modified” version. This is not so much to lose weight (but I will benefit from this) but to help me cleanse my mind and my body at the same time. When I do this, I will journal my experience.

Just do it!!  No more pussyfooting around. I have to keep focused and on track every single day. No more “tomorrow’s another day”. I’ve got to make each and every day count.

If I can establish the above in 10 weeks, then I am well on my way to becoming a “better  me” AND fit and healthy by fifty.

And if I can find a 5K that I can do here before March, then I will be adding that to the above list. I really want to do a 5K whether I walk it or jog it…. Doesn’t matter to me.

Wishing you all the best!
Sandra

  1. great goals.
I am doing the perfect 10 as well.
I kept my weight loss goal modest as well.
It is about the mechanics of food logging, water drinking and getting the water in.
Whatever weight happens to fall off in that time...is the weight that falls off.
Keep up the awesome work Sandra.
    Here's to 2010.

  2. Are we related? Or maybe it's just us women in the middle of our lives? I think those are some great basic but foundational goals. It is said that it takes 21 days to establish new "habits" and the P10 Challenge is 70. By then we'll both be on solid ground and working our way to conquering 2010!

Yeah Helen, when I read your goals and your posts, there are a LOT of the same daily challenges.

And Steve, Thanks for putting this on again. You have not only inspired us, I feel you have brought the community closer.

My sentiments exactly. You have some great goals and I wish you success.

I did a 21-day cleanse in July when I got really serious about this and it did A LOT for me!
