Dear Friends,
It is one of those days again when I “feel” hungry all freakin day long. I truly think it is because of my morning breakfast shakes. I’m no longer using the prepackaged stuff – even though it was very healthy and all ingredients were natural, it is expensive to keep ordering it. So I’ve decided to make my own in the morning and I am sure that extra fruit is spiking something and I’m hungry within an hour or two of drinking it. I’ve eaten almonds or pistachios’ to try to up the fat content as usually that staves off the hunger. For lunch I had a reasonable filling meal which truly, my tummy does feel full, not uncomfortable, just full and I still “feel” hungry. I’m on my 4th litre of water today already so I know I’m not thirsty. If I drink anymore, I’ll be water logged.
Mind you, I am going to go to Yoga again this afternoon and do need to keep filling up on that good for you clear liquid. So I’ll have probably another 2 litres in the next hour and half before I leave.
I’m bored at work, I’m reading up on and testing Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and all its new technologies, and I can only read so much before I want to have a nap or a snack.
How do you handle boredom? Am I the only one that seems to have this “feeling” when I get bored?
If I was at home, I’d be finding something crunchy to be eating on. Fortunately for me, all I have here is apples, pears, almonds, and yogurt. Sugar sugar sugar (well except the almonds).
On to a positive note – I reached some personal bests yesterday in Yoga. I was able to get into a few more poses even deeper. It makes me giddy in the class – as dumb as that sounds in that type of heat – but I was HAPPY! And even last night when I got home and had something to eat, I wasn’t as tired as I normally am. I’m going again today because I have to miss tomorrow as we are taking friends to a hockey game. And I want to go to tonight’s Zumba class but will see how I feel after Yoga. There is about an hour and half in between and if I go home and veg in anyway, I’ll get tired and want to just go to bed early. Happens…..
I hope everyone has a fantastic day.

Oh and another positive from regularily attending Yoga - I didn't walk like an ole lady yesterday at work. I was able to just get up and start walking without easing into it. I think it's all finally starting to work :)
ReplyDeleteYou are just the Yoga queen! :)
ReplyDeleteI too "feel" hungry when I am bored. I have limited snacks at work, so I usually am able to control myself, but right now I have a bag of animal crackers at my desk that I have found myself dipping into when I'm bored. Eek!
I get that "feeling" too. Usually I try to find something to do that keeps my fingers busy or requires me to have clean hands - things like working on a puzzle, crocheting or scrapbooking. Anything to keep me out of the kitchen. Or if I'm in a snacking phase, I will just plan on 6-8 tiny meals throughout the day.
ReplyDeletehave fun at zumba....oh, and ALL OF february has felt like that to me...I'd think it was pregnancy, only it would have to be the immaculate conception. ugh.
ReplyDeletehere's to march.
I have days where my stomach is painful because I feel so hungry. Funnily enough, a protein shake keeps the hunger at bay for me far better than a 'traditional' breakfast... I must start having them again as I'm doing the weights, so they won't be wasted!
ReplyDeleteHope you managed to fit in the Zumba class - I've seen an infomercial for it and it looks like fun.
Maybe the increased hunger is due to increased fat burning and you're going to get a real scale victory! But still, it's no fun. Personally, even protein shakes don't do it for me, I'd rather spend the same few hundred calories on something I can chomp on. So, I'm probably no help. In terms of eating when bored, my philosphy is it wasn't the apple that made you fat, it was the apple pie. So if you MUST, eat that apple.
