P10 Wk8 Update

Well it’s that time again for the weekly Perfect 10 Update

·         Log my Food

o   I didn’t do so good on this during the weekend but I did the other 5 days. Monday to Friday is easy, Saturday/Sunday I tend to bounce around the house or out gallivanting around so I don’t easily log everything. I’m getting very good at knowing what to eat though and how much. Which means my eating is boring because I’m eating the same things all the time J

·         Lose 10 lbs

o   Well, I’m 6lbs down and unless I can lose 4lbs in the next 2 weeks, I am not going to make this one. But I am going to try.

·         Exercise min 5x week

o   Yup, made this one. Did 3 Yoga Sessions and 3 Walking sessions but I didn’t do any ST this week and really need to get my muscles burning this weekend.

·         Schedule 1 Cheat day

o   Trying to make this Cheat Meal instead of an entire day, but on the weekend, we had Chinese Food for dinner on Friday night then I had it for leftovers again on Sunday. That’s two fatty salt laden meals on the weekend. Then when we went out Wednesday to watch the local hockey game with our friends, I ended up having some Nachos for dinner. The bar attached to the arena had Chicken Fingers with Fries and Nachos for meal choices. Mr. Sandra picked Nachos so I ate Nachos. And Yeah, I did end up having a glass of beer while we watched the Canada/Russia game before our scheduled local hockey game. Man that was an action packed game.

·         Complete 1 “Modified” 7-day Total Cleanse

o   I am cancelling this one as I don’t want to do a cleanse right now. I really think my metabolism is kicking into gear and I don’t want to add more confusion to my body by restricting calories which would happen in a cleanse. Once I’m under control better, I may incorporate this into my lifestyle.

All in All , I don’t feel like I had a good week, I know there is tons of room for improvement.  I only walked and did Yoga and although both are great exercises, I really need to pick up on the Strength training.

Now for something you don’t know about me:  hmmmm…. You know this is getting very difficult to come up with. I’ve been an open book on this thing J

Growing up I lived in a pretty small town. As a kid, it was hard to get away with anything because EVERYONE knew you. I was never a girly girl, I was pretty much a little tomboy. I would leave my house in the mornings and never show up again until dinner time (or unless hungry before that). I was always out in the fields capturing salamanders, garden snakes, gophers, rabbits (or trying to), or any other type of animal that I thought was cute. Brought a bunch of geese chicks home once – that didn’t go over well with my parents. My dad ended up taking them to the high school where the older kids raised them, taught them to fly and let them migrate in the fall. I learned a lesson from that experience because I didn’t know how to take care of them before I brought them home and from that time forward I made sure I thought these types of things through a little better…. Other than every kitten I found – those were free for the taking as far as I was concerned.

I would go the neighboring farms and ride their horses (sometimes they knew, sometimes they didn’t). I’d make forts in all kinds of abandoned buildings.
I think if my parents knew half of what I did in that town, they would have locked me in. I wasn’t afraid of anything (except spiders) and dogs.

Then when I was 11, we moved to the bid city. I’ve never been the same since J

  1. Interesting fact about you. I was always one for bringing home stray or injured animals as well. :o)

I suppose that seeing your week's results in writing, you can easily spot any areas that you can improve upon. I think a lot of us are struggling with eating right 100% of the time right now! Roll on Spring!

  2. That's really interesting Sandra. Especially since you moved right about the time you were going into puberty. I bet you wonder all the time if you would have kept that up through the teen years.

  3. Helen, I kind did for a few years. We lived on the edge of the city so I could still get out into the country a bit. I remember once wading through a pond filled with reeds and ducks and made my own nest in there. Spent all day in the water with the ducks etc.
Went home and later that night the itching started :)
I ended up with hives from the water and learned a valuable lesson again. I was red with bumps and itchy for about a week. It was horrible.

  4. Thanks for the tip about the treadmill incline. I'm going to try that. I was sucking air during that run yesterday. Gee.

Your childhood sounds eerily like mine. I grew up on 10 acres on a mini ranch. It was a quarter horse ranch and we had a stud service so I got to meet people from all over the US. I also stayed gone the entire day and only came back to eat or sleep. Sometimes bathe. I swam in a dirty pond that had fish and snakes in it. I spent the day in the woods down by a creek. Found all kinds of animals. Saved tadpoles from drying puddles and kept them in aquariums until they became frogs and toads. Learned to trap (and release) bobwhite quail. Would sometimes jump on the back of a horse without a saddle or bridle and just hang on. It was a great way to grow up. I'm pretty much in the city now and kind of miss those days of being outside all day. No wonder I was so skinny!

I like your P10 list. Great way to help you stay on track and reevaluate yourself.

  6. Wow, I loved hearing all about your tomboy adventures. We only had a little of that, so I don't I could say I was a tomboy. Sounds like you have some great memories!
