I want to thank Kimmi for generously offering three awards to my site. It is greatly appreciated. Go check her out, she’s doing well!
I received the Beautiful Blogger award some time ago and rather than repeat the entire process, I thought I would be lazy and just point you to my first posting. Besides, that post has a really yummy recipe and for my new readers, maybe you will like it J
And the same thing for the Happy Blogger Award – I also received it in January so I’m going to point my new readers to that post.
The one that I have not received in the past is the “One Lovely Blog Award”. I am not sure if there are any rules for it so I am just going to pass this on to each and every one of my readers. You guys have been a LOT of support to me and I read each and every one of your blogs daily (those that post anyway& this includes the Google readers…. ). I may not always comment, but I certainly try to read it all. I think everyone in this bloggy community deserves these awards.
So please, accept them!
Yesterday I had a busy day of exercising. Worked out in the morning doing the C25KW3D1 and then after work, met with the PT and did some strength training. She showed me how to use the foam roller afterwards and man did that thing hurt my legs. My quads are particularly tight, which is something I already knew. My hip flexors aren’t very flexible and it is because of this I have issues in other areas. So when she had me roll on that thing last night, it HURT! So basically what that means is that I MUST get into the habit of rolling my quads, hams and butt on a daily basis until those muscles let go and relax.
I think I also found the perfect core workout DVD. I don’t know when I bought this one, but found it last night in my book shelf so I watched it. I like to watch them first before I use them. It was 55 minutes of core Pilates. It looked challenging. Not sure when I will fit it in but since it is 55 minutes long, it will likely have to be on the weekend. I’ve only got about 40 minutes of exercise time first thing in the morning (unless I start getting up before 4 L… which is not likely), so that time will not work. My Tue/Thursdays are already full and I could possibly do it Monday or Wednesday but those are my Hot Yoga days and I’m kind of beat after doing those sessions…. So will see.
Last night before sleeping, I did not read, I did a little meditation and I will have to admit, I slept like a baby. I did not want to get up this morning. I finally actually slept throughout the night (except when my hip hurts and I have to turn over). But it was the most restful sleep I’ve had in some time.
Have a FANTASTIC day!

p.s., pedometer reading for yesterday 13948

Dang...that's a LOT of steps! I feel like a complete sluggard. Yesterday I only got 5000!!!!!! I better step it up!
ReplyDeleteLove me some foam roller... except I've always just used my old fashioned rolling pin! I'll bet you'll be surprised at how much better your legs feel if you start rolling regularly. Also loving that pedometer reading - you step girl!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your awards! That nmust feel awesome to know people appreciate what you're doing and writing!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I've only just heard of this foam roller phenominon and I must say it does sound painful. I have the same thing happen when I have a body massage, that when they do my legs it's always more painful than relaxing. Kind of defeating the purpose there!
This is my first time finding your blog but I'm glad I've stumbled upon it! I'll be keeping up!
congrats on your awards!
ReplyDeleteWow, you are racking up the steps, just think where you will be after 8 weeks, amazing! Glad you slept so well too, I need some good rest maybe meditation is what I need too.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteI just stumbled unto your blog, and I have to say, congrats to you all around!
I am living proof that you can be fit over 40 - oops, I am over 50! Time flies when you're not looking.
Congrats on the steps and your path to health and healing.
I am a foam roller addict, and a yoga addict. I believe they are both amazing tools to discover where your imbalance lies and where you carry your stress/pain.

Good luck to you and namaste!

PS, I will follow your progress!
great job on the exercise...I have gotten lazy about awards lately as well..terrible.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the awards - you thoroughly deserve them! :o)
ReplyDeleteI must try to meditate... It's not something I've ever been very successful at. Perhaps a guided meditation would be a good idea? If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them! :o)
