Overkill?

Last night I adjusted my alarm clock to get me up at 4:40 a.m., instead of 4:00 a.m. It has dual alarms and the other one is set to 5 which is my normal wake up time. Since it's been awhile since I've actually gotten my lazy butt out of bed at 4, thought I'd change that one. Well I not only changed it, I turned them BOTH off. Thank goodness for internal alarm clocks. I woke up at 4:45.

Then I got dressed, fed the dog, and put on all my running gear.

OK, I'll admit - a bit of overkill. I like to log things, keep track, plan plan plan....Sorry about the poor quality of picture, it was 5:00 in the morning. First one I took showed all the spots on the mirror (I've got some work to do), second shot was blurry. I didn't do a "do over". Anyway, since I was about to run outside, I had to have my Garmin GPS watch - because now that I found out I can upload from it to DailyMile, well I've just got to keep tracking my miles. And I wanted to wear the HR monitor so that I can start tracking my HR on my walks and C25K sessions (outdoor ones) and see how much improvement I gain over time.

And then I have the Polar F11 that I wear every time I exercise except during Hot Yoga. Doing the cobra with a large plastic thing sticking into your rib cage - well it just isn't all that comfortable. I wore it once, and know I burned about 1200 calories... correct or not, don't care - it was based on my HR. But I like to wear it because it keeps track of my workouts, HR and calories on a daily, weekly, etc. basis and I like to see at the end of the week that I have burned XX many calories.

And then there is the pedometer. I only wear it once in awhile to see just how accurate it is setup. It said I walked/Jogged 3.1 KM this morning - and my watch said 2.0 mi - basically the same. I am going to wear it during my 100Km walk in September because my garmin won't stay charged for 3 days so the pedometer will have to do.

And showing my belly is my way of working up to do an Exposed post which seems to be hitting blogshere again - go check out these posts - MizFit mentions it again here,  it started here, and today we have Lyn & Steve - they are amazing as usual.

Hope everyone has a FANTASTIC day

Oh and about the run - it was great getting back out there again hitting the pavement. Tomorrow will be the telling test as to how my hip feels. HOWEVER, I am also scheduled with my PT after work so I have a double whammy today. Oh when I make my mind up to do something, I don't just go at it easy, I kill myself :)

  1. You crack me up! Although I wear a lot for a run too, although only my Garmin as a gadget. But I always wear a water belt and that holds my cell phone and kleenex and a couple $$. You know, if you bought a newer Garmin, they have the HRM built right in now so you wouldn't have to wear double watches!

  3. I do have the new Garmin (I think). It is the 405 with the HR monitor but I also like my Polar because it keeps track of my calories by workout. I know ... it's still double tracking :) The polar works for inside so I just wear them both..
And that was just my skin contact, I also have the belt with water bottle, kleenex - oh so much kleenex and lip gloss. Stuck my phone in my coat pocket. Never know when you are running in the dark along a river path. And before anyone asks - yes we were safe :)

  4. Roxie I so hope so as well. Because I SIT at my job all day, I grabbed my co-workers ball and sat on it for about an hour and stretched, stretched and stretched some more. Even threw in some ab work :) So hopefully it won't do anything I don't want it to do.

  5. Wow, that's a lot of stuff! I too was going to suggest the newer Garmin, but never mind. :)

I love the picture; I actually took one today to post on my blog after reading Lyn's and Miz's posts!

  6. I'm in full support of gadgetry...I just got my Garmin Edge 705 which was designed for cycling, but I'm using it for both. I need the mapping capabilities since I hike as well.

In God we trust, all others bring data!

  8. I agree with Chris (cmoursler). WOW. And where are those bionic legs.

You are more than welcome to weigh in early for LHA, I am glad to have you on board. Looks like I may have to step it up a notch to keep up with you!
