I can’t believe it is week 6 already since we started the Long Hot Active Summer Challenge. Time flies by when you keep busy J
So here are the stats (and I’m not happy but not surprised either).
My Weight today is: 183.5
I lost/gained (start 181.9 – last week 182.0) +1.5lbs (+1.6 from Start)
Minutes exercised June 9th -15th: 445 (325 quality, 120 Walking)
I can do much better in the exercising department and this is what this entire challenge is for me. To keep my exercise minutes up high for the entire summer. High as in intense quality exercising, not just the walking. I’m not as worried about my weight, as long as it doesn’t go above +5lbs, but I MUST keep exercising. Maintaining is one thing but if I stop exercising then that number on the scale will increase and I can’t allow that to happen this summer. Besides, I feel so much better during and after I exercise.
Lately though, I haven’t been able to do as much as I have wanted to and quite honestly, at 4:00 in the morning (this week especially) when that alarm goes off, I can’t seem to drag this lazy butt out of the bed to get downstairs and do something vigorous. It sucks really. I feel like I need a “sick” day. A day where I can get a good full 8 hours of sleep and wake when my body feels like it. No disturbance at all. All this week, Mr. Sandra has made sleeping peacefully very difficult. He is constantly coughing (he is a smoker), snores extremely loudly or bounces around. Not sure what’s up with him but he is not making it easy to get enough good quality rest these days. He doesn’t have to work, he is retired and can sleep as long as he wants. I’m just plain tired.
Last night, during my personal training session, she worked my legs again. I’ve decided that my legs are pretty weak. I thought they were strong, but I was wrong. They are just largeJ. By the end of the hour, I could hardly walk down the stairs, I felt like I had jello legs. So when we were done, I got back on the treadmill and walked at an incline, slowly (3.2) for 30 more minutes. My goal is to not get too sore so I like to walk the lactic acid out of my system before stopping and getting into my vehicle. Once I sit, and it pools in my legs, then I’ll be toast. With walking right after, I’ve been good lately and not gotten too sore. However, we will see around 5:00p.m. tonight on how that theory goes.
I hope everyone has a FANTASTIC DAY! And Good luck to all the LHAS challengers!

Sandra
great job with the trainer!
ReplyDeleteLMAO @ "I thought they were strong but I was wrong. They are just large."
ReplyDeleteI might be suffering from that myself! :D
Mr. Sandra is retired? Lucky b*stard!
4 in the morning IS pretty darn early to get up and exercise. Whew.
I hope you find a way to get good quality/quantity sleep. It affects EVERYTHING, as I was reminded, again, recently.
ReplyDeleteAnd perhaps Mr Sandra needs to see if he has sleep apnea?? I just saw a show on tv (the Doctors) and they mentioned men and loud snoring, and said that if their neck size was over 17 inches around, and they snored, they might have it. Just a thought!

=^..^=
Oh Mr. Sandra definitely has sleep apnea... I have no doubt about that...
ReplyDeleteI've got the machine and my own mask that I used to wear but he needs to go talk to a doctor and get the right pressure and mask specifically for him. I think I could adjust it for him but he doesn't seem to even want to give it a try. I hated it, felt like snuffleupaguss (that elephant with the long nose) so he likely remembers that.... :)
4 am is just plain insane. I can't believe you do that, you should get a gold star just for THINKING about it!! :) My hubby snores a lot too - needless to say he's been sleeping on the couch while I"m sick so I can get some rest!!!
ReplyDelete4:00 comes awful early, doesn't it? :-)
ReplyDeleteGood job on the exercise!
My hubby snores as well. I am constantly having to tell him to roll over. As long as he faces away from me and I have a pillow over my head then I can get some sleep. Sometimes he will go sleep on the couch and those nights I sleep so good. He has sleep apnea but refuses to sleep with his cpap machine because he hates it.
ReplyDeleteFor a while when we had our own place we had separate bedrooms but eventually I got more used to his snoring and can deal with it a little bit now.
Sorry you had a gain but great job on the exercise. You sound a lot like me in that you MUST exercise to keep the weight down. If I don't that is what screws me up. I know it but it is still hard to get that exercise in every day! Keep at it, you are doing very good.
Rock it, live it, own it!

Your exercise is very impressive Sandra. Can you take a wellness day for yourself? That might be just what you need.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's time for separate beds? ;-) You deserve your sleep!
ReplyDeleteThat's great what you did with the trainer. Way to "walk it off" afterwards too. Soreness is a good thing but when it interferes with your ability to do normal things (like sit down to go to the bathroom) that's too much. ;-)
I know you can keep up the intensity!
I am with you on the exercise being more important right now than the lbs lost! I am more than happy to be maintaining! I work hard and my muscles/fitness levels are increasing so I am happy.
ReplyDelete5 AM is heroic though, you are an inspiration to me, Sandra! Try to get atleast one rest day a week though and don't burn out, sleep is important for your health too!
