Oh Hail!

I know a lot of you have been having a very warm summer but there are some of us who really haven’t had much of a summer at all. In fact, I can quickly blame it for not getting outside to walk as much as I had planned. It’s hardly been nice for the last two months. Don’t get me wrong, there have been sunny days, but it just hasn’t been a great summer.

Kim and I have been walking when she gets home from work (or I get home at the end of the day). We have only been averaging 2 hours at a time this week but were intending to getting in a few more hours today.

However, this is what came home with her:

My poor tree out front lost a lot of its leaves.

You can’t really tell by these pictures, but some of them are golf ball sized. There are going to be a LOT of damaged cars around here. Fortunately my son has my truck right now but depending on where he is with it, on how much damage it has received – I’m hoping for none :)

This is AUGUST people – hasn’t Mother Nature looked at her calendar lately – we need some warm weather around here.

Kim and I have been doing a lot of walking and so far have been aiming for walking every day to get conditioned. On Saturday we will be walking a 25K training walk with our complete pack so we know how it feels. I’m looking forward to it.

They also have finally posted the route on the internet and let me tell you, there’s going to be some pretty big hills. Syl, we will be walking along the 22 from Priddis to Bragg Creek – them are pretty big hills…

Good thing I’ve doing a lot of hill walking then….

I’m very unhappy about my weight right now but there is no one to blame buy myself so I’m working hard to correct it. Uncle Tom keeps disappearing and showing up at the oddest times. And showing up right after a two week holiday when I was not feeling myself to start with, well it just made it worse.

I’ve been doing lots of research on how I want to tackle my grub for the next while and so much of it sounds so good, that I don’t know where to start. Silly eh?

I hope you all have had a FANTASTIC weekend!

  3. Yes, it's been weird here in Oregon, too. Last Monday: 105 degrees. Last Tuesday: Lightening, thunder, lots of rain, then HAIL!!

But that's good that you are walking anyway. And getting ready for a 25K? Super!
