Well I’ve had a busy couple of days. I have to admit I like it when I get the house to myself. I have gotten a lot of organizing done and yard work and exercising in. I even took today off because I was in the mood to keep the movement going.
Saturday I did some canning in the morning, then took Ms. Kate for a 70 minute walk. I have missed walking as I haven’t done a whole lot of it since the Kidney March because we have had such yucky weather. But Saturday it was so nice out, we had to hit the paths.
Then when I got home I did Jillian Michael’s Shred-It with Weights and since it was my first try I only used the 5lb kettleblock. Some parts of the DVD I found easy so I think I would need a heavier kettleblock and then some other parts I found a bit harder. But all in all, I did enjoy it. I spent an additional 10 minutes of stretching after because my legs are still tight from… well they are just tight from everything.
Then my daughter and I cut the grass and cleaned up the backyard. My little sqaure foot garden didn’t turn out all that well this year and it might have been the weather (crappy) or it might have been the soil. It might have been too rich or something like that. It was the first year and hopefully next year it will turn out better. I have left the beets in because they can weather colder stuff so they are good for another week or so.
Yesterday I walked on the treadclimber in its treadmill mode. When it is set like that I think the incline is about 12% but I don’t know for sure. I think I will move the treadmill at the gym up to 12 tomorrow and walk to see if it feels the same. Problem with the Treadclimber is that since it is two separate tracks I have to walk with my feet slightly apart – not my normal stance and it affects my hip/legs. Saturdays Kettlebell workout did sufficiently work my hamstrings as they were sore on Sunday and walking at that incline, with my legs slightly apart- well let’s just say it still hurts :) Again afterwards, I did a ton of stretching and threw in some ab and upperbody work into the throw.
I think I might do the 100 pushup challenge. I HATE pushups so what better way to challenge myself than to do what one hates. I hate them because they are so hard…. enuf said
Today I’ve continued to clean/organize my house. I’m de-cluttering and moving things around. Having an organized home helps me with keeping my life organized.
For exercise, I did a 30 minute interval walk on the treadmill. It was good and a challenge. Something I am going to have to keep doing. I think it will help me speed up in my walking and maybe eventually I’ll feel like running again :). And was I ever sweating after that. Did more stretching and some abs.
Later this afternoon I’m taking Ms. Kate on the same walk we did the other day (only opposite direction) and wearing my Garmin as I want to know how far we walked. I like numbers….
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and have a fantastic week to come.

Look she is growing up :)
How sweet is she? So adorable!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you - when other things in my life are in order, it feels like it's easier for me to keep myself in order too.
I was always so glad to get some "home alone" time. Sounds like you got some great stuff done.
ReplyDeleteAs far the as the gardening goes, some years are just like that. Frustrating, isn't it?
What a doll baby!
I am impressed with your Jillian/kettlebell workout. I'd probably hurl it through the TV screen. Maybe not completely unintentionally... ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove the happy baby!!! Tell me more about the 100 pushup challenge...
